La Flora Dominicana Double Ligero 700

Calling it “A powerhouse cigar with girth . . . this oily Toro smacks of creamy, full-bodied flavors including notes of chocolate. The finish is long and loaded with spice,” Cigar Insider tells it like it is. We certainly concur. No cigar we have tested deserves its rating more than La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero. With the exception of its Sumatra-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador, every leaf of this cigar is totally controlled from seed to box by Litto Gomez and his wife Inez from their tobacco farm in La Cannella.

As the name suggests, it’s the Ligero tobacco that gives Double Ligero its fabulous taste. This is Ligero from the crop of 2000 and 2001, picked at the sixth priming, very close to the plant’s crown. As the lower primings are removed, the remaining leaves are provided with more of the plant’s nutrients, giving them increased flavor. While these leaves are thicker and require more time to cure and ferment, their flavor is unparalleled.

It’s not only the deep oily rich tobaccos that make Double Ligero so special. Litto Gomez has devised the Chisel, a unique way of rolling a Pyramid so that it comes to a tip that fits easily in the mouth, somewhat reminiscent of the tip of a woodwind instrument. In the Chisel, Gomez has invented an entirely new shape in the world of cigars. “This way it goes into the mouth in a perfect way, very comfortable. I think it even fits better than a Torpedo or a Pyramid. It also allows you to smoke a big ring gauge cigar without filling your mouth. After I made it and smoked it, I discovered the way that it distributes smoke into your palate is fantastic.”

Now is your time to “play” La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero. With the entire production for world wide distribution limited to only 10,000 boxes, finding these cigars will be a challenge, so take advantage of this introductory offer and lay in your supply while you can.
